Those days are gone when the Indian brides preferred to wear  red dress on her wedding day. Brides had no option other than red and maroon saree or lehenga with lots of gold jewelry. These days weddings have become fashionable. There are many designers in the fashion industry who have changed the trend of bridal wear.When I think of bridal wear I am fascinated by designs of the great designers like Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla. They have designed some terrific bridal collection.

Here are some tips how to select fashionable costumes on this marriage season keeping the essence of tradition or ethnic wear.

For brides-

1. Select colors like light green, sea blue, cream, pink, violet, pale red and sparkling yellow  as they are in fashion.
2. Go light while selecting salwar, kurties, lehegas and sarees as you will be more comfortable than wearing heavy dresses.
3. Cocktails dresses are in the fashion. So go for it.
4. Select dresses like traditional, Victorian and Indo-western for all pre and post wedding functions.
5. Select the lehegas according to your body type , stress on elegance in silhouettes.

For grooms-

1. Latest trend for grooms is indo western suits including breeches in gabardine.
2. If you want to go for western suits for post wedding ceremony like reception, go for black accessorized with cuff links ,boutonniere, tiepins or brooches
3. Jodhpuris are elegant specially when you want mix and match traditional Indian wear with western sensibilities attached to it .
