This article is specially written on the occasion of Earth day. Here are some  tips to integrate green practices in your event.



1. Choose a venue which has its own comprehensive recycling plan .

2. Choose a location such as garden, green hotels, lawns, farms , rose garden or  botanical garden which will add natural beauty to your event as a decor and using less energy on energy consumption decor.

3. Choose you local vendors which will save on travel time and fuel consumption
4. If it is wedding- you can use bicycle, horse drawn carriages, cycle rickshaw for groom to arrive at the ceremony (Barrat). It is a unique idea and Eco-friendly too.
5. Use flowers, leaves, buds and steams to create your event decor as well as centerpieces for your event and then donate these flowers to the hospitals, rest home etc after the event.
6. To save paper for save the date, invitations or thank you letter, you can use online invitation, wedding blogs or wedding websites to let your guests know about  your event dates and ceremony schedule.
7. Use organic menu for your food and beverages and use biodegradable cutlery made out of potatos, corn starch, wheat and sugarcane.
8. Use leaves, natural objects or any natural way to number your tables.
9. Donate leftover food to a local food bank or homeless shelter.
